Why We're Passionate

Transcendent Travel specializes in bespoke, curated tours and premier experiences globally and is currently based predominantly out of our offices in New York City and London. We provide our services in three main areas:

  1. Cultural and entertainment-based tours

  2. Global wine and gastronomy experiences

  3. Creation of bespoke tours for individuals, groups and development-based tours for organizations

Transcendent Travel has extensive background in the design, development and commercialization of curated travel experiences and excursions.

Andrew Lannerd, one of the company’s founders has been developing much-loved events, tours and productions for various arts organizations over the past 15 years. He began his career in the hospitality industry and later moved to work in the arts industry as well.  During his career, Mr. Lannerd has worked alongside numerous classical and contemporary artists and has also worked extensively with several broadcast companies to produce tours including, PBS and Acorn TV.

The other founder, Kathryn Rice, is based in New York City, has been associated with business and the arts for the past 25 years, and has a vast amount of practical experience with organizations from an operational standpoint. She has overseen the development and growth of Transcendent Travel since its inception. Ms. Rice also provides her management, operations and promotional services to a diverse set of events, along with Mr. Lannerd.

With the founders’ combined experience, Transcendent Travel has been well set to provide unforgettable curated experiences and tour services for a diverse set of customers and clientele globally.

Transcendent Travel also leverages its knowledge of the tourism industry, turn-key touring solutions and logistics to differentiate itself from others in the industry. With its broad operational expertise and employee know-how, Transcendent Travel has acquired extensive intellectual property within the travel industry.

Transcendent Travel has worked closely with non-profit organizations to produce development tours — allowing organizations to take their friends, members and donors on wonderful tours, affording opportunities for development and donor cultivation.

In addition, Transcendent Travel has also produced tours for numerous television and movie-based productions, predominantly situated around popular British programming. These tours have offered guests insight into the locations and production of the following shows:

  • To The Manor Born

  • Downton Abbey

  • Doc Martin

  • Victoria

  • Poldark

  • Wolf Hall

  • Agatha Christie (various books and series)

Transcendent Travel produces a mix of special events and experiences in both the wine and culinary genres. These special experiences have included, but are not limited to:

  • A custom wine and food tour designed to experience the Washington state wine region, from its stunning vineyards to its delicious cuisine.

  • Working with a French tourism board to design a custom wine and culinary experience in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region to highlight local vineyards and wine makers, along with culinary offerings from top chefs in the region.
